Coolum Beach

Coolum Beach
Since moving to live in Coolum Beach in 2014 after regular holiday visits for over twenty years I have been keen to explore the environment of this little coastal town. Each town on the Sunshine Coast has a different feel to it and to me Coolum is the last of the little coastal villages to be fully exploited by tourism and baby boomers. Most mornings my husband and I walk down to the beach in front of the Surf Lifesavers complex and along the wide expanse of beach to the mouth of Stumer’s Creek.   We then walk back to the carpark and down the road towards Coolum. We veer off into the reclaimed ti-tree swamp bush walk and then back into Coolum. This book reflects on this walk and the various habitats we pass through on the way.
