Commercial coloured papers, industrial glue, sticky label, commercial label with printing
In 2001 I did a residency with Edwards Dunlop Paper, as part of the New Possiblities for Paper Project hosted by the University of the Sunshine Coast, and organised by Christine Ballinger. As part of the project she introduced artists to business partners who were prepared to allow the artists to work with them to produce a body of work for the Paper as Object exhibition. EDP were paper distributors, and I was able to use their commercial papers, and have access to the industrial paper guillotines. While I could use large sheets of paper, I made these very small liquorice books…each book is bound with an industrial glue on one edge. I had them put into confectionary bags by a local confectioner. I copied their liquorice label…but in the ingredients, I listed them as having No Sugar, Glucose etc.
